So I found a website that actually lists the definition of the name alongside the name in searches so it's really easy to find names I like now. If you're interested, click here.
Recently the name Derek popped into my head, and it's quite possible I might use it somewhere in Enilas. I was originally going to use it for one of the three Zilllet boys I have yet to name, but it's looking like maybe not. See, it means "ruler", and I'm not sure any of them are going to rule over anything. I mean - I guess for the older twin - okay I'm going to warn you right now this post is NOT going to make ANY sense precise because NONE OF THEM HAVE NAMES and it's just really damned annoying. Somehow I picked perfect names for the girls but for the boys I'm clueless, absolutely clueless. Basically one Zill set (yeah, I'm dropping the mystery cuz I'm tired and this is really the only way to explain it) has two twin Zilllettes and a Zilllet and the other set has two twin Zilllets and a Zilllette and I've found names for all the Zilllettes (Sophia and Abigail, and Elizabeth). I like "William" because that means "protector" but I don't know which twin boy to use it for since they both act as protector for the other at some point in the story, sometimes at the same time. Then there's "Owen" which means "young fighter" or "young warrior" but again that applies to both. It would probably apply to the older twin more since he's the one who actually ends up at the equivalent of MSU, which in Enilas is this school of weapons and fighting (along with everything else educational)...and the other one ends up talking to squirrels *cough* ANYWAY...yeah, still puzzling over that.
I also found (on that same site) a wealth of Native American and Celtic names (and also some Finnish and a few Canadian) names that I might use for place names or elf names or fairy names or names for the winged cats and the fire-hound-things and names for their species in general...like there's these things that I've been calling fire foxes in my head just offhand but of course I can't really call them that since Firefox would kill me. And really to be honest they're somewhere between a wolf and a fox. Really they're like, wise old elemental spirits which have taken this form that's like, this wolf-fox thing, only completely fire. And the winged cats which I've been calling catlings are cats with wings...and magical powers and wisdom and all the mystery that cats think they have and sometimes do when they're not just lying around in the sun like a lazy blob.
And now it's 2am, and I am very tired, and I need to get some sleep if I'm going to get up and get to Roswell tomorrow. :)

Names!
So the crazy flame-wielding, knife-throwing, epically awesome but kinda conflicted child known up to this point only as "TehDemonSpawn" or similar things finally has a name, thanks to some research that could very possibly be deemed as creepy (i.e. looking back at really old posts on a friend's online journal). I believe her name shall be Riley, although it could be Jamie, but of course if I hear other suggestions from legitimate sources that may very well change.
The twin girls who might not actually be twins also may have names although I'm really not sure why. I'd really prefer the twin boys to have names, since then most of the important characters save the adults would have names and I could actually start writing, perhaps. But no, these minor characters (minor now, at least - though I'd like to keep them minor to avoid the clashing of reality that will happen sooner for them than for all the rest of the kids) got names first. Abigail and Sophie, or Suzie, perhaps, were the names that just popped into my head for them recently.
I feel like I'm going to have to actually do research about the boys' names. I mean, if I don't get any suggestions. *hint hint to my one and only listed follower* Research behind names, and the meanings behind them, and whatnot. I suppose I should do that anyway for the adults and some of the other kids I don't have names for yet. I just don't know how the hell I'm going to do that with all this stuff that's going on - job stuff and school stuff and personal stuff and...jeez, there's just never enough time. Probably cuz I waste it all. *sigh*

Well since I'm still bored in lab...more blue notebook!
Part of an entry in the blue notebook. The whole thing is too long to post, but I put up an amusing example of my crazy imagination. See if you can follow what's actually happening and what's daydream. Note that most of the bits of future Saline tales (now transformed into Enilas/Elinas) are no longer valid.

I claim I'm not obsessed, yet I always seem to stray to the topic of Zill in writing or in thought or in conversation. I was just thinking about how I'm not sure if Joey's forgiven me about the van [note from present: Joey seems cool with it now, but I still feel super-guilty about lying to Kyle's face about it], and how it's really bugging me, and how I sort of want to start off the new year on a clean slate, and how I can't do that if this is bugging me. So I've decided to call them. Soon. Tomorrow, if possible. So then I thought about - okay I imagined calling them, and getting Kyle, and having him say "oh no, Joey's over at Vanessa's and by the way we don't have any myth homework". And then I said something about "why would I ask for Joey if it was about myth and that's okay, I'll just call Vanessa. But do I really want to interrupt their snuggling?" and then Kyle said something like "screw them and their snuggling" except now that I think about it Kyle wouldn't say something like that, or would he? b/c I don't know him all that well to be completely honest. By the way I pity the soul that tries to read this because it's definitely lacking in punctuation and grammar, and logic. mmm oh yeah. And then I made him freak out by saying "that's an interesting picture." :) Poor Kyle. And then he asked what it was about, and I said the van, and there was a pause and then I asked "did you really just check to make sure it was there?" and then he was like "well..." and then I was like "yeah, Kyle. I got Grace drunk, had her tell me where the keys to your house were (cuz she TOTALLY knows), stole the keys, left my drunk friend alone to fend for herself, drove over to your house, stole the van, and then somehow got my own little SilverMoon back home." (And I just thought up a whole 'nother segment of talk where we discuss the fact that I named my car as well as the name but I won't go into that, it's complex enough already.) And there was another pause and then Kyle asked how I got Grace drunk and I told him about the stash of whiskey and vodka my parents have and that's actually true. This led to a whole 'nother conversation about alcohol and my sensitive taste buds. Eventually I did call Joey/Nessa but not much was said about the van - I sorta got off topic talking about the Zilllets and crew - and since Joey + Nessa found it amusing, I elaborated on several tangents, including the idea of Emma and little Timothy Rhine, Luke, Alex, and Beka Zill, future D+D, DDR, cloggers, clarinetists, singers, violin dorks, and trumpeters, oh, and future light saber duels too, and RMF (random musical folk) and how that got started when Joey found Tony F. playing trumpet on an Ann Arbor street corner, and Hobbiton, and how Luke and Alex are total trumpety and DDR prodigies and they're the favorites of everyone and they're the older ones, so Beka just gets more shy and more withdrawn til she's almost like me [note from present: the new Lizzy is actually pretty darn kick-ass], and how Beka eventually ends up with Timothy [nope], and no, I'm not planning their grandkids, I've only come up with some high school stuff, but it's not much developed yet, the most developed is "The Quest for Something Interesting" when Luke and Alex are 7 and Beka's only 5 or so, and by the way these kids basically know all the advantages and disadvantages and quirks of all the instruments there are cuz they've been raised by us, the RMF.
And if you're not convinced by now that I have a fantasy-prone personality, then take this into account: that thing I just wrote never happened. Those conversations were all made up, and all of it was made up within the last hour or two.
(end of portion of entry that I'm posting now)
There's more details about what happens to each person I knew in high school as the entry continues in the blue notebook, but since Enilas takes place in a fantasy-based world, and most of the couples are different now, it's really not valid anymore. I may post it later though if people are interested.

OMG Actual Enilas Stuff
I was actually able to write up some part of the Enilas story while I was at a concert last week. Keep in mind that it's some first draft of some chapter and I am in no way, shape, or form an English or literature major.
Vivadid looked around him, at the sea of faces, showing a mixture of hope, nervousness, and excitement. Some were old friends, come to catch up and chat after the performance. But some were new, completely unknown to him, and it was these whom he hoped to inspire the most with his tales and his music. In his view, there was never enough creativity in this world. There was always room for new ideas, new stories, and new music.
For Vivadid was a minstrel, a bard - part storyteller, part musician, he traveled the world with his troupe. Of course, there were all sorts of chemical doodads and technological widgets in the wagon that helped them actually earn money, but the music was what they truly enjoyed.
And the stories, of course. It had started with the music, but a few stories of old friends met in younger days had become quite popular in pubs, and with a few literary licenses and a few alterations, some simplifications and name changes and all of a sudden Vivadid was the most popular bard in the land, with tales of the Snowflower and the Rose Prince, the Dark Prince and his band of roving rogue Pyros, rivalries between the weapon-fighters and the plant-weavers and the squirrel-talkers, the Eccentric Duo, the Ladies of Mischief, the ever-so-secret unokaa, and of course all the other standard tales about elves and powers and Gwynn and whatnot, told with Vivadid's special flourish.
But now it was a hometown show - finally the troupe had come back to its roots, although they weren't about to reveal this to the crowd at large and dispel the long-held belief that all bards and minstrels had always been roaming the land since birth. Such mystery added to the power of the stories they told. As such it was a relief to see that most of the faces in the crowd were new to this place...and yet...some seemed almost...almost like they were peering at him from the past. Bits and pieces caught his eye - a pair of blue eyes here, a mop of light brown hair there, the occasional evil smirk he could've sworn he'd seen before, but the next moment it was gone and the crowd was just a blur of faces once more.
"WELCOME!" Wendel called to the crowd, arms and eyes wide open, an almost maniacal grin on his face.
Vivadid shook himself free of his thoughts. Even if some of the children of his "legends" were here, watching him, they should still have years ahead of them before they came into their powers; and there was no way they could possibly recognize their parents from the stories he told. It was just another show, that was all.

Not sure how to continue on from there smoothly, but there it is. There's more background in my notebook, talking about the legends starting up and the addition of Timothy (whose name may be changed later), the servant/apprentice boy of the troupe. And there's a draft of the story of the Two Brothers and the Warriors of Dren (based on the Nerdfighters), which I may use to transition into the first introductions of the kids. Most of the kids still need names though. Please make suggestions. :)
